The 13th annual Krispy Kreme Challenge

Are you into eating doughnuts and running at the same time? Get ready for the Krispy Kreme Challenge 5-mile race that will be held on Saturday February 4 in Raleigh, NC.

Started in December 2004 as a dare challenge among a few Park Scholars and all the North Carolina state undergraduate students, the Krispy Kreme Challenge has been transformed into a nationally publicized charity and also a must-do race before graduating at North Carolina State University. At present, it is known as the best race for pastry lovers and is among the most incredible themed races in the United States. It is especially dedicated to support the mission of the North Carolina Children’s hospital.

The Krispy Kreme Challenge race starts at the Memorial Belltower, on the campus of North Carolina State University where competitors will run 2.5 miles through historic downtown Raleigh. Then runners will get to the Krispy Kreme shop, located at the intersection of Peace and Person Streets where they will try to consume a dozen original glazed doughnuts. And here is the challenge: head back at the campus after eating doughnuts and reaching it under an hour!

The event has various challenger categories and you can have fun being involved in the race by running the challenge, being a supporter or working as a volunteer. This year, 8000 participants are expected so get ready to test your ability to run with 2400 calories in! Be on time on Saturday February 4, the race starts at 8:30 a.m.
